This collaboration from Benji Reyes and Ci Majr is the perfect summer jam! Immediately, the pluck and marimba combo give me a little bit of that Mura Masa feel who I’m definitely a fan of. I love Benji’s record scratch riser transition into the bridge. While you can’t really go wrong with a snare or tom build up, the riser was a nice change of pace.
Don’t let the dope, upbeat production fool you too much though. Ci Majr hits us with some relatable, real ass lyrics throughout the track about being repeatedly used by a significant other. It’s that sad, but bouncy track combo I’ve talked about before that can conveniently fit whatever emotion you’re feeling! Feeling sad and heartbroken? Get into those lyrics and into your feelings. Feeling happy? Get up and dance it out! Maybe even both at the same time! Anyone who says pop music is shallow just ain’t listening…or they ain’t listening to the right stuff.
