Midnight Bebop - “When You Are Missing…”

Hitting y’all with some lo-fi vibes for your hump day. Your week is picking up a bit, but take a minute to breathe with this mellow groove.
I found out about Midnight Bebop listening to a lo-fi mix while I was working. When this track came on, it definitely caught my attention away from what I was doing and I had to look up the track name and artist. There’s just something about it.
It starts off kind of with an island vibe with some beautiful guitar chords. Getting into the melody we get some lonely, non-chorded guitar plucks alluding to the title of the track “When You Are Missing” someone. Right after that, there’s a wistful flute-y synth that takes over that sounds hollow and distant adding to the feels I get listening to the song.
The lovely thing about music though is all the ways it can be interpreted. Another time this track auto-played on my YouTube, it just put me in my happy place. In that occasion, the guitar chords were just whisking away the day’s stress.
Definitely check out more of Midnight Bebop’s stuff though. Besides that lo-fi groove that was love at first listen for me, they’ve got plenty of disco grooves like “Business At Night” and “Late Night Lovin’” (AMAZING use of samples in that one) to get you on your feet so enjoy those as well!
