Vauner - “Swinging Solo”

~Zumi Underground

Our first rock song on here. Sorry to keep you rockers waiting, but this one is worth it.

The simple 3 note guitar intro gives me some classic rock vibes. Already a good start. A few measures in we’re treated to loead vocalist Corbin’s badass, gravel-y vocals. The little warble he does with his voice makes me think of if Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy was a lumberjack who took down trees with his bare fists and exclusively breathed campfire smoke (believe it or not, I mean this as a compliment).

Especially in the first verse, the lyrical imagery is really strong:

When I woke up today

I felt the snow inside

Jack hammer in my brain

You’re swimming in my mind

It’s a really fun, bouncy track despite some of the melancholy tones of the lyrics about a broken heart. I tend to really like those though since they end up working well for multiple moods.

This is their only song on Spotify currently, but go ahead and use the link if you want to add this to your Spotify playlists.
