Bad Snacks - “Lucky”

Pop

Real quick, I know it’s been a LONG minute since my last post. Sincere apologies, but I’ve spent the past few months celebrating the birth of my daughter and learning how to dad <3 Finally getting a bit of a rhythm and hope to be able to make regular content again.

I’ve been lucky to enjoy time with my slightly bigger fam and now am also lucky to hear this AMAZING new track from Bad Snacks…called “Lucky”…yeah…7 months away and that’s my best. Anyway, I’m obsessed with this song! I first learned about Bad Snacks from Andrew Huang’s famous ‘4 Producers, 1 Sample’ series and have been a fan since.

I’ve come to know Bad Snacks for generally chill grooves like the song she produced from the aforementioned video challenge, her remix of “Shiki no Uta” (from Samurai Champloo), and some other mixes and singles she’s got on her Spotify. I’ve also come to know her as a vocal-less artist. So when “Lucky” came out as this catchy, vocal pop banger, I was shocked in the most pleasant way possible!

I hope Bad Snacks keeps putting out vocal tracks alongside her buttery smooth grooves. She was saying in her making of video for the song that she struggles to write verses, but I’m so glad she decided to enlist some help and push forward with it. The lyrics have a little bit of sass and a lotta bit of swagger which goes perfectly with the bouncy beat she produced.

The subtitle conversation at the end of the music video is absolutely worth checking out too.
