Melanie Faye - “It’s a Moot Point”

~Zumi Underground

I’m a brand new fan to Melanie Faye (and hope to make one out of you too), but in looking her up, it seems she is best known to her long-time fans for her phenomenal guitar skills (which are prominently featured in this track). However, she has apparently stunned them on “It’s a Moot Point” with her beautiful, controlled vocal talents as well!

At only 22 years old, Faye has already worked with established musicians such as Masego, Noname, and Bibi McGill. She’s done really well for herself through social media first getting viral notoriety from SZA retweeting a video of her shredding, skyrocketing her Instagram followers from about 7k to 50k. More recently, she was seen on seen on H.E.R.’s Girls with Guitars Instagram live series.

Checking out her Youtube page, it looks like she mostly does covers, but if she’s got more originals like “It’s a Moot Point”, I’m excited to dive in to her catalog and for what’s to come!
